Deschutes County Title and Abstract Co. will hold open house Friday at the new quarters
at 1030 Bond Street. The public is invited to view the offices between 2 and 5 p.m. Doughnuts, coffee and soft drinks will be served.
Gordon W. McKay ls president of the firm, which was founded in 1917 by his father, the late Clyde M. McKay. Vic Kaiser, Gordon McKay’s son-in-law, is vice-president. Olive E. McKay, widow of Clyde McKay, is secretary. Gordon McKay joined the firm in 1950. His brother, Duncan, ls a local attorney.
The building, containing 2,400 square feet, was purchased from Myrl P. Hoover. and has been completely refurbished. There Is a large central work area, flanked by a reception area and Kaiser’s office at the front, and McKay’s office and an escrow and conference room toward the back. At the rear are a storeroom and kitchen facilities for employees.
The front area is paneled in pecan wainscoting, with walnut paneling used in McKay’s office and the escrow room. Jaspe wallpaper in beige and brown tones, and ·pale yellow paint, are used in the decor. Equipment includes FM music.
Employees of tile firm are Don Johnson and the Misses Kathleen Schoening, Sharon Howard and Robin Rogers.
The escrow room will be available to small groups for meetings, and may be reserved on request.
The firm occupied the new building May 4.
