The Mirror Pond Steering Committee (MPSC) is a collaborative decision-making and oversight body for the Mirror Pond Sedimentation and Enhancement Project, which was established to develop and implement a long-term strategy to address the silt deposits in Mirror Pond.
The MPSC is comprised of the following five stakeholder groups: City of Bend, Bend Park and Recreation District, Pacific Power, William Smith Properties, and Bend 2030.
The committee was formalized by a memorandum of understanding among its members on November 16, 2010.
- Mel Oberst, City of Bend
- Angela Price, Pacific Power
- Don Horton, Bend Parks & Rec
- Bill Smith, William Smith Properties
- Matt Shinderman, Bend 2030
The MPSC oversees the RFP process, including evaluation of proposals and final consultant selection; oversees the project manager and his/her management of the project, including determinations about contract performance and payment; and provides sufficient funds to Bend 2030 to cover all project costs.
